josh & john-paul

"How happy I am to know you. How lucky to have you to hold. How perfectly perfect to run alongside you and to watch as your story unfolds." -Dallas Clayton

My husband had Josh as a teacher in high school and we have always looked up to him. Now he's engaged to his longtime love and we are over the moon happy for them. I knew I wanted this session to be cozy and full of bliss. But I had no idea how perfect of a time we would have! John-Paul is as in love with plants as we are, so taking them to a greenhouse was GENIUS. Eyes just lit up. It was so fun to watch them both delve into childlike wonder and then into blissful contentment with one another. I am so grateful to be around for this season of life for so many couples and to capture this easy quiet of people who are so content with one another.

matt & makenzi anniversary session

I filmed Makenzi & Matt's wedding two years ago, and since that October, I have gotten to see them each October since. I think sessions with return clients are my favorite type of session ever because they just get more comfortable with me each time. Therefore, that much better at ignoring me and truly being themselves together. I love being ignored at a session. I love people falling into their own pattern and being truly into their people. This genuine connection makes me love my work (and my clients) more. And makes me prouder to send the session out because it's like "look how beautiful you are when you're aren't paying attention", "look how much you love each other!" Matt & Makenzi make my creativity soar and my heart happy each October I get to see them. Their peaceful joy is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

"How beautiful to find a heart that loves you, without asking for anything, but to be okay." -Khalil Gibran

abigail is 4!

I've photographed Miss Abigail since birth and, oh my, can she WORK the camera. And she keeps getting more fun every year.

For this four year session, her momma thought of having a little tea party. I love how this shoot was just like a regular day playing with her parents while I was a fly on the wall. (though I was served some delicious tea at one point) Abigail has a tender heart and is full of joy, joy, joy. Watching her giggles spread to her parents and light everyone up is incredible. The light hearted and silly nature of a four year old is contagious and beautiful. I love getting to spread happy to you guys through the screen.

alder & rowan

TWO THINGS-
1. The twin-love is super strong here. Two babies at once, to cuddle together and accidentally hold hands, is a photographer's DREAM.
2. The in-home session love is even stronger here. Kendall and Jesse and their ease in front of the camera and thier apartment FULL of light is a photographer's DREAM.

Needless to say this session was a dream for me. So much sleepy sweetness. So much dreamy light. So many newborns. (two is a lot okay.) So much happy. I hope you enjoy the little film of Alder and Rowan hangin' out together. I can't wait to see what antics happen as these boys grow up together. It will only get cuter.

tatum: natural session

"Joy is the best makeup." -Anne Lamott
Tatum came to me with this concept of a makeup free session. Just to feel confident in her own skin and inspire others to feel the same. I so admire the vulnerability in these images. There's a rawness that we were both hoping to achieve but didn't know exactly how it would happen. I am so happy to say that the creative magic came through and these are better than I imagined. The perfect balance of beauty and rawness. The perfect image of a girl comfortable with herself.

oliver

This sweet boy loves picking things in the garden, being outside, his momma, and hot tea. Yep he drinks tea and it's the sweetest thing hearing his little voice ask for it.
I love the personality that comes through when you shoot in someone's space with them. We never would have thought to shoot Oli drinking tea but since I was just there when he asked for it, I captured that quirky sweet thing for them to remember. There are more hidden perks to shooting in home than I could ever express. There is so much authenticity there.

august

Sweet August turned two this fall. We documented his fun personality at his grandparent's farm. I love this session because of his wonder and the playfulness of every photo. (his amazing outfit helps too) Allowing little ones to wander and explore will always make for a better session and happier kiddo. Plus we get more expressions and backgrounds then we could have ever achieved with our grown up ideas. ;)

ashley + kevin

This intimate wedding cradled in the Rockies was a dream. A mountain wedding has been on my bucket list for a few years, so when Ashley inquired I was giddy. Through the whole planning process it just got more and more perfect. From the carriage ride to their priorities being scenic couple portraits, we were a perfect fit. Ashley and Kevin and their families were so gracious and welcoming. We really felt like we were part of this day in such a beautiful way. My husband, Tyler, second shot for me so about half of these shots are his! He really got into it due to the gorgeous scenery. So many good things from this wedding!
